"The rating group serves as a benchmark for the degree of slip resistance, with floor coverings in rating group R 9 meeting the lowest and those in rating group R 13 meeting the highest requirements for slip resistance." (Source: DGUV Rule 108-003 (formerly BGR 181) - Floors in workrooms and work areas with a risk of slipping ) The slip resistance classes for floor coverings are standardized according to DIN 51130 .

"Slip and fall accidents are significantly influenced by the material and surface properties of the flooring and the degree of soiling. Inappropriate footwear or soles, improper floor cleaning, inappropriate walking speed, and objects lying around particularly increase the risk of tripping."
