Pallet truck adhesive mat for cleanrooms & hygiene areas

This pallet truck adhesive mat for cleanrooms and hygiene areas is a high-performance, antimicrobial dust-binding mat or floor covering for walking and light vehicles such as pallet trucks . It reduces particle counts on the floor (up to 99.9%) and airborne particles (up to 75%) in critical areas.

Large facilities that previously used many disposable adhesive mats can save up to €100,000 or even more in costs over the lifespan of our permanent adhesive mats, as well as reducing plastic waste by several tons. At the same time, the measured cleanliness is significantly improved due to the larger surface area of our cleanroom mats. (See the case studies at the bottom.)

As part of our commitment to quality control and customer satisfaction, we conduct annual on-site visits to our customers to subject each mat to a particle filtration efficiency test. In scientific tests, the product has proven to be the most efficient option for controlling any contamination transmitted via shoes, wheels or the air when protecting critical areas.

Typical applications of the adhesive mat:

All access points to critical areas where the ingress of contamination by pedestrians or pallet trucks must be prevented (e.g. cleanrooms, drug manufacturing / pharmaceutical manufacturing, food production, chip/electronics manufacturing, server rooms and data centers , laboratories, hospitals, catering, canteens)

Cleaning:

A suitable cleaning system for the adhesive mat, consisting of a squeegee and a special liquid cleaning solution, is available upon request.

SEMI-PERMANENT TRANSFER

The adhesive mat is professionally attached and sealed to the subfloor (with optional cold welding installation service), thus eliminating the risk of contamination or tripping hazards.

Can be installed either as a standard-sized adhesive mat or custom-made for areas with complex layouts and traffic flows.

Case study from a large US medical device manufacturer that replaced disposable adhesive mats with permanent adhesive mats.

"This paper describes a study by a major US medical device manufacturer that investigated processes for significantly reducing airborne particles in cleanroom areas. This study determined the amount of particle reduction, highlighting cost, time savings, and the sustainability of reusable contamination control floor coverings."

RESULTS:
• The number of airborne particles in the changing room was reduced by 75% through the use of polymer floor coverings.
• The level of particle release was reduced because no sticky mats were used and no contaminated layers were removed.

SUMMARY:
• The test results showed that the changing room is cleaner, with a significant reduction in particles.
• Cost savings were expected due to the polymer floor coverings having a lifespan of over 3 years, with an estimated saving of US$80,000 compared to purchasing peelable sticky [disposable] mats.

Case study on the use of cleanroom mats at a large US electronics chip manufacturer

"This paper describes a study conducted by a leading semiconductor manufacturer in the USA to investigate processes for significantly reducing single-use waste. It highlights the selection of an alternative solution and the resulting benefits. ..."

COSTS: The manufacturer estimated that it spent $102,000 per year on the use and disposal of tear-off mats. This included reported disposal costs of $0.39 per mat. Implementing a polymer floor covering eliminated almost all tear-off mats in the facility, resulting in a return on investment in the second year. Over the five-year lifespan of the permanent adhesive cleanroom mats, savings totaled more than $330,000.

EFFECTIVENESS: Expanding the contamination control zones from 2' x 3' to 10' x 6' resulted in an immediate and significant reduction in pedestrian and bicycle traffic contamination at all cleanroom entrances—a tenfold increase in surface area. These particle counts remained low even after five years of installation. These reductions in particle contamination reflect the results of several published independent studies that have demonstrated the greater effectiveness of larger areas in removing pedestrian and bicycle traffic contamination.

CLEANING: The maintenance team routinely cleaned the changing room floors at the start of each shift. Given the extensive flooring, capable of withstanding the significant foot traffic during a shift change without becoming saturated with particulate contamination, it was determined that a single cleaning per shift was sufficient. The floor coverings were cleaned using the factory-approved cleaning agent, a sponge mop, and a floor scraper.
