What is a forklift mat?

A forklift mat cleans the tires or wheels of forklifts, pallet trucks and transport trolleys as they are driven over, thus preventing dirt and water from entering the production or storage hall.

Instructions for the forklift mat

How and where are forklift safety mats used?

1. Clean the surface where the forklift mat or adhesive tape will be applied very thoroughly. In particular, the floor must be free of dirt and oil, otherwise the tape will not adhere properly.
2. Place the dirt-trapping mat upside down on the floor (i.e., with the nubbed structure facing down).
3. Please apply the double-sided tape to all four edges of the mat, as close to the edge as possible. Within the resulting rectangle, create an "X" with the tape by placing it diagonally from one corner to the opposite corner, sticky side down (blue side up).
4. Then place the forklift cleaning mat in the desired location, usually at the entrance gate to the production area or warehouse . Carefully fold one half of the mat back slightly (do not crease!) to expose the blue adhesive tape.
5. Remove the blue liner and cut it back along the folded area. Then fold the other half back and repeat the step on the other side.
6. To secure the connection between the strap and the mat element, apply pressure by walking around the mat and its edges. Done!

How do you clean forklift mats?

• VACUUM CLEANER: Regularly vacuum the forklift mat with a standard vacuum cleaner - A standard wet/dry vacuum cleaner is recommended for locations where snow or heavy rainfall occurs.
• WET VACUUM: Extraction cleaning with a commercially available machine is the preferred method for deep cleaning dirt-trapping mats in place - Regular cleanings, carried out every 4 to 12 weeks in high-traffic areas, help to reduce dirt and wear patterns.
• PRESSURE WASHERS: The cleaning mats should be cleaned outdoors or in an area designated for pressure washing. Remove any old double-sided adhesive strips from the floor and the mat. Pressure-washed mats should be hung up to dry. Mats should be completely dry before being reinstalled.
