Jump pole tape as a color marker for show jumping obstacles

Our high-quality, self-adhesive color markers (sold as rolls) for show jumping obstacles are the ideal solution for clearly and safely marking jump poles and other obstacle elements . Standard widths are 5 cm, 7.5 cm, and 10 cm; other widths are available upon request . Each roll is 30 m long. They improve visibility for both horse and rider and significantly contribute to accident prevention. Made of weather-resistant, UV-stable plastic, these jump markers adhere reliably to wood, plastic, and metal. Their vibrant colors ensure excellent visibility even from a distance.

This product is available in the following color options:

  • White
  • black and white striped
  • Black/yellow striped
  • Black
  • red/white striped
  • Red
  • Orange
  • Green/white striped
  • Green
  • Yellow
  • Blue

Note: Horses have dichroic color vision, meaning they only have two types of cone cells in their eyes. This allows them to perceive certain colors, but not the entire color spectrum visible to humans. Specifically, horses can easily distinguish shades of blue and green, but have difficulty differentiating red and related hues. This color perception is similar to red-green color blindness in humans, where reds can appear as greens or grays. Find a video simulation of how horses see here.

" All obstacles in equestrian sports should be designed to minimize the risk of injury. One danger is that a horse might step on a pole lying on the ground because a pole has rolled into the wrong place. Therefore, poles should be secured against rolling away, and attention should be paid to maintaining the correct spacing."

Heavy, stable, and solid obstacles are usually preferred. Spruce wood with a normal residual moisture content of 15% has a density of around 400 kg/m³. Therefore, a pole four meters long with a ten-centimeter diameter already weighs 12 kilograms. Obstacle standards, especially catch standards, are considerably heavier, particularly if they have perforated iron rails for the jump faces. For this reason, more and more lightweight obstacles made of aluminum or shatterproof plastic are being used. (Source: Wikipedia - Equestrian obstacles )

Marking the jump poles in a way that is clearly visible to both rider and horse can reduce the risk of injury.
