Requirement according to ASR A1.3 from July 2017: "If emergency lighting is not available, the visibility of the necessary rescue and fire protection signs on escape routes must be ensured by using photoluminescent materials even in the event of a power failure."

Glow-in-the-dark anti-slip tape – photoluminescent escape route and stair marking
The photoluminescent anti-slip tape combines a highly visible photoluminescent marking with a strong slip-resistant surface. It is particularly suitable for stairs, steps, escape routes, walkways, machine platforms, and poorly lit areas in industrial settings, warehouses, workshops, and public buildings.
Under normal lighting conditions, the material charges through natural daylight or artificial light . In darkness or during a power outage, the tape releases the stored light energy and typically remains visible for several hours . No electrical power supply or battery is required.
